The Horizontal House, designed by Omid Rouhani, is a stunning residential project located on the world-acclaimed Palm Jumeira in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Inspired by the client's design brief, the site, and the breathtaking views, the design team aimed to create a space that not only met the client's requirements but also maximized the panoramic views.

The main living spaces of the Horizontal House are strategically positioned to take advantage of the 180-degree views, providing an open and spacious layout for residents to enjoy. The design also incorporates both active and passive solutions to combat the harsh climatic conditions of the region.

Some of the innovative design features include adjustable shading louvers, hanging vertical gardens, and a green roof design. These elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the house but also contribute to its sustainability and energy efficiency.

The Horizontal House stands out from other designs due to its unique location on the Palm Jumeira and its incorporation of green design principles. The collaboration between Omid Rouhani and his team, including Principal Architect Jelena Macar Radakovic and Senior Architect Aleksandra Vicentic, has resulted in a truly exceptional residential project.

Currently in the design development phase, the Horizontal House is set to become a landmark on the Palm Jumeira. Its innovative design, commitment to sustainability, and breathtaking views make it a standout project in the region.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award in 2017. The Iron A' Design Award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
